About the Course
This course incorporates equipment manufacturers' recommended best practices for machine operation, operator level maintenance and safety procedures with the practical guidance of an experienced HEO and Master Trainer. It meets the safety needs of experienced operators who benefit from periodic safety refresher training and operators who are new to the equipment.
Who Should Attend
This course is appropriate for new and experienced heavy equipment operators and for supervisors and crew chiefs.
Agenda
8:30 a.m.: Registration/Check-in
9 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Class
- Major causes of accidents with heavy equipment
- Organization, management and operator responsibility in the safe operation of heavy equipment
- Rigging for heavy equipment operators
- Tips to reduce equipment owning and operating costs
- Tool box talks—importance of frequent safety updates and on-site meetings
- Importance of documentation and maintaining safety training records
Enrollment, Registration, and Cancellation Policy
Pre-registration is required one week in advance. Registration is $25.00 for municipal or public sector personnel and $50.00 for all others. This fee covers all materials, and lunch. Registrants will receive a confirmation of their reservation. If we do not have 72 hours advanced notice that you will not attend the seminar, your registration fee will be forfeited.

Instructor
Steve Price is a Heavy Equipment Operator Training Specialist and NCCER Master Trainer with International Training Services (USA). Steve has over 30 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator trainer. He has worked with most of the leading equipment manufacturers on construction and mining projects worldwide. His company is currently provides instruction for two technical college heavy equipment operator training programs in Louisiana—one in Port Allen and the other in Alexandria.
